Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct system of primary care that goes beyond superficial symptoms to address the root cause of illness. Blending modern scientific evidence with ancient healing traditions, Naturopathic Medicine can restore, promote, and maintain optimal health using individualized natural therapies.

A Naturopathic Doctor views the individual as an integral whole, taking into account the physiological, structural, psychological, social, spiritual, environment and lifestyle factors affecting health. Emphasizing nature’s inherent self-healing process, a Naturopathic treatment plan may include lifestyle changes, clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation, homeopathy, acupuncture, counseling and/or hydrotherapy.

What to expect with Naturopathic care

Before your first appointment, you will asked to fill out an intake form and to bring any copies of recent blood work or medical test results you may have. Your initial visit of 1.5 hours will consist of a consultation, detailed history and naturopathic assessment, which may include a physical exam, depending on your health concern.

At your second visit, usually one or two weeks later, your individualized treatment plan will be discussed. Also, any remaining portion of the relevant physical exam may be completed on this visit.
