Psychotherapy

You already possess basic health, sanity and the resources you need to walk your journey of healing and change. In many cases we are not aware of the resources we have within us and around us in our lives to work through painful experiences. At Lifecycles Wellness, the role of psychotherapy is that of a healing mid-wife bringing a strong set of tools to empower you to work through the most challenging situations and heal the most daunting of wounds.

Psychotherapist Sherap Andrew Winn brings together the steady calmness of meditation with the positive, inspiring atmosphere generated through solution-focused counseling, and the therapeutic work is held within a strong ethical container informed by her experience in working with trauma. Within this safe, caring and empowering therapeutic approach, clients are able to connect with their own abilities to resolve their problems in meaningful and lasting ways.

What to expect in a psychotherapy session

In the first session, we will identify the nature of the problem, the change you want to make, and how to begin to work toward that change. Psychotherapy is tailored to the needs of each client, and we will work together to determine how to resolve the problem.

Sherap Andrea Winn
Sherap is a second generation Shambhalian Buddhist, a contemporary form of Tibetan Buddhism which cultivates the qualities of fearlessness, gentleness and intelligence, and encourages us to constantly strive to see the goodness and sense of possibility in all situations. These values were impressed upon Sherap since childhood, shaping her approach to being a healer and meditation teacher.

Through completing a Women`s Studies degree and working in various abuse shelters, Sherap has sought to understand women`s place in this world. She credits the influence of Women Who Run With the Wolves by psychoanalyst and skilled cantadora, Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes. Shares Sherap, “I work to bring together the dignity and fearlessness of Shambhala with the gut-level wisdom and intuition of being a woman in all my activities, including my therapeutic work and meditation teaching.” For more information about Sherap, please visit her personal website.

Sherap also offers BEAM therapy.
