Fatigue

It is normal to feel extreme fatigue during the first trimester as your body is going through huge hormonal changes and needs extra sleep during these important first few months. The fatigue usually passes and you will feel more like your old self during the second trimester. The most important message is to listen to your body and pace yourself accordingly.

Here are some tips to conserve your energy:

Nap whenever you have a chance

Go to bed early

Minimize any commitments you have for the time being

See if you can perhaps start work an hour later

You may need to take some time off work or make other arrangements for household chores and childcare.

Enlist the support of friends and family.

Acupuncture can support your body through the big changes of the first trimester and weekly acupuncture is recommended until week 12.
